It is challenging time for all of us, but the challenges for parents are increasingly complicated and complex.

We are no longer a parent, but a teacher, a caregiver, a employee, a spouse, etc. It is impossible for a single person to fulfill all of these roles and maintain a healthy well-being. But it is important to remind ourselves that this is a uncertain and consistently changing time in our lives. As a result, daily tasks become difficult and decision making feels impossible. All we want is the best for our children and our families, so we try to balance everything including safety, security and health, but we still feel worry, fear, guilt and doubt. This multitude of complex emotions takes a toll on our well-being as a parent as well as on our families. Our energy and ability to cope with difficult situations influences those we care about, especially our children.

Not a single one of us is perfect, we all make mistakes, including parents. The exhaustion makes us impatient and irritable and we make decisions that we really didn’t want to make. It is ok. Not everyday is going to be a good day. Take the time to breath and reset for the next day, so we can focus on moving forward in a positive way.
