SUMMARY:World Suicide Prevention Day 2023
DESCRIPTION:This year\, in honour of World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10th\, we are holding space for those we have lost to suicide. \nFrom Friday – Sunday (September 8 – 10)\, stop by CMHA Saskatoon and light a candle in honour of those you love. \nThis is meant to be a private and personal candlelight vigil. Outside you will find a box with a pen and paper where you may write your loved ones name and a message to them\, if you choose. Then\, tape it to a candle\, and flip the switch on the bottom of the candle to “light it.” \n  \n \nWe hope this provides our community with an opportunity to grieve and remember their loved ones. \nIf you require additional support please contact CMHA Saskatoon at 306-384-9333 or email info@cmhasaskatoon.ca. DESCRIPTION:The 2nd Annual Delisle Community Walk for Mental Health will be held on Saturday\, September 23rd\, in memory of Dwaine. \n“After Dwaine died\, those of us who loved him struggled\, as all those left behind by suicide do\, with the longing of wanting to know what we could have done to keep him from taking his own life. Over the last 10 months\, we’ve come to realize that there was nothing we could have done. He was the only one who could have changed the outcome and had he been more aware of the help available and was more receptive to receiving that help\, it may have made a difference and he’d still be here today. \nThis event to raise awareness and get people talking\, helps to ease our longing of wanting to know what we could have done to save him…because we’re doing something to save others.”\n— Angela \nIn lieu of personal pledges\, donations in memory of Dwaine will be gratefully accepted for CMHA Saskatoon to support critical programs and services. \n \n
